Eric Schmidt, a technology veteran brought in as Google Inc.’s “adult supervision” a decade ago, is relinquishing the CEO job to Larry Page, one of the prodigies who co-founded the company behind the Internet’s dominant gateway.
The surprise shake-up announced Thursday appears to be driven by Schmidt’s desire to tackle other challenges as much as Page’s personal ambition.

Britney Spears debuts at No. 1 on singles chart
Britney Spears has become just the second artist in the 52-year history of Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart to debut multiple songs at No. 1, as “Hold It Against Me” took the top spot in its first week.
Spears previously came in at No. 1 with “3″ in 2009. The only other act with multiple No. 1 starts is Mariah Carey with “Fantasy” and “One Sweet Day” in 1995 and “Honey” in 1997.

Afridi says no time for experimenting
Pakistan one day cricket captain Shahid Afridi says the limited-over series against New Zealand starting from Saturday will not be a time for experimenting ahead of the World Cup, Radio New Zealand reported on Friday.
Afridi will be leading his side in six one-day matches in Wellington on the back of a test-series win against the Black Caps.

Test Ranking: Pakistan earns two ratings points
Pakistan batsman Younis Khan, Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and fast bowler Umar Gul have moved up in the International Cricket Council (ICC) player rankings after good performances in the Wellington Test.
