Light rain brings relief; isolated rain predicted in pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Light rain followed by dust storm in turned weather of twin cities pleasant, bringing relief to residents from prolonged heatwave conditions. The residents, fatigued by scorching heat, were yearning for rain enjoyed rain and their wish came true when the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi received light rain on Monday evening. A high intensity of dust-storm hit the twin cities earlier. However, the wind speed of today's dust storm recorded by met office was 70 kilometre per hour in Islamabad and 90 km per hour in Rawalpindi. An official of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that pre-monsoon currents of weak to moderate intensity penetrating in eastern parts of the country will cause thunderstorm, rain in Upper Punjab, Hazara Division and Lower Sindh during next 24 hours. The western disturbance over upper parts still persists and is likely to prevail for next two days. The official said that thunderstorm along with rain is expected at scattered places of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during next two days. However, weather will remain hot and dry in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan during next few days. The city's maximum temperature will remain between 35 to 37 degree centigrade.
