Ajmal Kasab is now a days reading the Holy Quran in Mumbai jail.
When his advocate, Farhana Shah asked him if he was reading anything these days, Kasab replied, “I am reading Quran for the past few days” she said.
The Bombay High Court had asked Kasab’s advocates to meet him in Arthur Road Jail on Monday.
Kasab told his lawyers that he wanted to attend the confirmation proceedings in-person.
However, the HC rejected his request, citing security concerns raised by the prosecution.
The HC has asked the State to make necessary arrangements for production of Kasab through video conferencing in two weeks’ time. The court has fixed the
date for hearing of the confirmation on October 18. |
