US embassy demands immediate release of Davis

The United States embassy in Islamabad on Saturday called for the immediate release of Raymond Davis, the US diplomat who was arrested for gunning down two men in Lahore on Thursday.

Why so many B-town hotties using abusive language?
There are recent Bollywood films like Kaminey, Yeh Saali Zindagi, No One Killed Jessica just to name a few where so many cuss words have been used by protagonists as if there was nothing as entertaining as these in our films.
Yet when it comes to analyzing these very movies where quite a lot of noticeable such words or phrases are used it seems almost strange that despite these very bold dialogues littered with such words these movies have done considerably well at the box office.
This goes on to say to a certain extent that probably the modern Indian audiences are quite comfortable with this language.
Now does that mean that certain cuss words have entered into the daily dialect of our society and somewhere down the line there is very little left to draw the line between what is considered to be acceptable and what not acceptable in

IT officers seize Katrina's computer to find tax fraud
The income Tax officials had raided the homes of these two actresses on Monday 24th January 2011. The raids were conducted at 7.30 a.m.
According to reports, both of them did quite a number of shows last year and both have not declared huge sums of money that they earned through those shows. The amount could up to Rs.6.Crore. Further reports mention that crore of rupees were recovered from their homes.
The IT department will look into Katrina and Priyanka’s bank accounts and also interrogate their business managers. The income tax department suspects that both Katrina and Priyanka might be guilty of tax evasion on the money that they have procured from foreign stage shows, guest appearances and several brand endorsements.

MJ imprints slab up for auction
The singer made the impression back in 1984 for a Las Vegas Walk of Fame project, which never came to fruition, reports the Daily Star.
The cement block, which has been dubbed the 'Broken Heart Stone' because of a crack running through a heart shape on Jackson's left palm print, was found in the basement of the Riviera Hotel in 2006.
It was then raffled off to a guest, who sold it on to the current owner in 2009.

Red meat heightens risk of cancer
A team of researchers tracked half a million Americans over a decade and found those who ate more red and processed meats appear to have a "modestly increased" risk of dying from all causes, and specifically from cancer or heart disease.
In contrast, those who ate more white meat have a decreased risk of dying, and in particular of dying from cancer.

Twin bombings in Kohat tunnel; 4 dead
The attacks took place late Friday night in and outside the tunnel which connects the main city of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to the city of Kohat.
In the first attack, "an explosive-laden truck entered the tunnel and blew up, badly damaging another truck behind it, wounding five people," top administration official in Kohat, Shahidullah, told media.

Mubarak sacks government, vows reforms
"I have asked the government to resign and tomorrow there will be a new government," a stoney-faced Mubarak said after four days of protests demanding his resignation in which at least 27 people have been killed.
He vowed to pursue economic and political reforms.
"We will not backtrack on reforms. We will continue with new steps which will ensure the independence of the judiciary and its rulings, and more freedom for citizens," Mubarak said.
