I won't be disrespectful to anyone on Bigg Boss: Salman

Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan is known to be straightforward but the actor, who will be the new host of reality show "Bigg Boss 4", says he knows his limits and will not be disrespectful to anyone.

"I'm straightforward, but I'm not an obnoxious kind of guy who doesn't know what to say and where to say. I know that if I'm speaking to an elderly person, I should give him respect and if I'm speaking to a person junior to me, I should give him respect too," Salman told in an interview.

"I know my limits. There is no reason to be disrespectful to anyone."

"Bigg Boss" is the Indian version of popular British reality show "Big Brother". It has celebrity contestants locked in a house under the surveillance of multiple cameras for a period of three months without any contact with the outside world.

Salman has stepped into the shoes of the host for the fourth season. The show has been earlier hosted by actors - Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan.

This year Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar's names were doing the rounds as the new host, but finally Salman's name surfaced.

So what newness does the 44-year-old actor plan to bring to the show?

"I haven't planned anything, whatever I do will be spontaneous. So I really don't know what is that new (thing) that I'll bring to the show. I'll be what I am," he said. "I'll just try to make it fun," he added.

Salman, who earlier hosted the game show "Dus Ka Dum", is known to connect with the audience very well.

Asked about one quality that helps him click, the actor said: "I don't know. I have no idea. The day I get to know, I'll be the biggest fraud on earth because when you come to know that, then you keep doing more of that to attract the audience. You are not natural then," he said.

Asked which medium he finds finds more challenging, films or television, Salman said: "In films there are a lot of re- takes, you are playing a character. But in television, you are what you are. Also, it's difficult to retain the attention of the public for a long period of time. So television is definitely tougher."

The show is expected to go on air from October this year with 14 new celebrities locked in a house for close to 85 days - with 35 cameras following their every move. 

Bebo wants a bungalow

Bebo is getting restless. The actress is looking out to buy a bungalow along with her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan




Now, this sudden rush to buy a bungalow is not entirely uncalled for. Actually, Bebo and Saif are worried that the flat opposite their penthouse can disrupt their privacy. So, they want to move out to another location.


But, finding a vast area and that too a Bungalow in the middle of the city is no mean feat. But, Bebo and Saif are determined to solve this space issue.

Well, let's hope Bebo's concern for her private space is resolved at the earliest.

Deepika's look alike?

Anyone who has seen a recent photoshoot of LA talk show host and actress Lakshmi Manchu (she's Telugu star Mohan Babu's beti), can't deny that she looks a lot like Ms Padukone

Lakshmi Manchu, daughter of Telugu star Mohan Babu, is gearing up for B-Town. The actress has an uncanny resemblance to Deepika Padukone.

She did a photo shoot recently and anyone who has seen the snapshots can't help but comment on the similarity.

She is, however, not new to showbiz. Based in Los Angeles (she keeps shuttling between India and the US), Lakshmi has appeared in shows like Las Vegas, Boston Legal and even Desperate Housewives.

Basking in success
She is currently basking in the success of her first movie as a producer -- a Telugu film Jhummandi Nadham under her home banner Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures. The film released last month. Directed by K Raghavendra Rao, it stars her younger brother Manoj.



"I am excited that the film got a tremendous response. I feel super blessed, " she said. The stardaughter also plays the negative lead in Disney's first ever Telugu film tentatively titled Once Upon A Teardrop which stars Siddharth and Shruti Haasan.

"I love playing the negative lead. The most difficult thing I would say was getting into the evil queen's costume after hours of make up. But when the end result is nice it's all worth it."

Her chat show in the south The Lakshmi Manchu Show is slated for a third season soon. "When I was in the US, I used to watch a lot of Bollywood movies. It was a great connect between the East and the West.

Now that I am here, I do have some offers from Bollywood but it's too early as I am going through some scripts. I would want something really challenging and different for my first film."
