Traditional Football in the River Match Played in Burton
Every year, during this time, the usually peacefully trickling River Windrush is invaded by two boisterous teams of local players, battling it out for victory in the annual Bourton-in-the-Water Football in the River match. Hundreds of spectators gather around the grassy river banks to watch the teams fight it out among themselves, in a tradition that is over 100 years old.
Two teams of six from Bourton Rovers Football Club compete in the unique football match trying to control the ball in knee to ankle deep water. Plenty of waters are splashed about and spectators are advised to wear waterproof clothes if they plan on getting very close to the action. Splashing is all part of the fun.
This year?s match was held on Monday, August 30, and was watched by over a thousand spectators.

Fake earthquake drill tests Facebook, Twitter
(CNN) -- If your Facebook page or Twitter feed lights up with news of a tsunami off the California coast, don't get too worried.
At noon ET Friday, a drill was launched by natural disaster experts at San Diego State University to test how social media would be used to respond to a crisis.
Exercise 24 (X24) is being run by the university's Immersive Visualization Center.
Participants from 15 countries, including the United States, organizations such as the United Nations and Red Cross, and other business, nonprofits and individuals will be involved.
The idea is to test the speed and widen the scope of responses to a major disaster, focusing on how social media sites like Facebook and Twitter can be used.
"Ultimately, the goal is to get there faster, respond more effectively to save lives, communities, businesses, etc.," read a written release on the drill.
Organizers said that all messages about the

Editorial: Nokia's not going to switch to Android or Windows Phone 7, so stop it already
I've had it. I can't take all this Nokia operating system speculation anymore. The final straw came with a VentureBeat piece citing a "trusted source" that claims "Nokia is now likely to use Windows Phone 7 as an additional platform for its phones." Enough already. Nokia has a strategy and hiring Stephen Elop away from Microsoft's Office team isn't going to change that no matter how much the US media (where Nokia has near zero presence) wishes it were true -- if anything, it's going to accelerate it.
Nokia has been aggressively working towards a very clearly defined strategy. Sure, they've been slow to implement it -- too slow -- but it's nearing completion and ready to bear fruit. The Symbian rewrite is a two phase strategy that will ultimately help Nokia in its bid to democratize smarpthones. You can already see how Nokia is shoving what were once high-end smartphone features into incredibly cheap handsets. The first phase will hit devices in weeks as Symbian^3 and

MacBook Air suffers another bout of 11.6-inch display rumors
You know a device is due for a refresh when the only thing left to write about it is rumormongering of a possible upgrade. Today it's the turn of Apple Insider, citing sources in Taiwan, to declare that an 11.6-inch LED-backlit display will be headlining a long overdue update to Apple's MacBook Air. We've heard this scuttlebutt before, and the idea that the Air would be shrunken in order to better differentiate it from the MacBook Pro line carries a lot of believability, but we're still a little jaded from previous misleading rumors on the same subject. At least this one comes with all the
