Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie is all set to make her directorial debut with an untitled love story set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war.
The 35-year-old star, who has visited the country as a UN goodwill ambassador, has also written the script, which is being produced by GK Films.
Jolie, who announced the project last week during a visit to Bosnia to speak with government officials about the refugee crisis there, won't star in the movie, Variety reported online.
The actress has cleared that she does not plan to make a political statement with her film, which tells the story of a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of war and the effect the conflict has on their relationship.
The cast will comprise members of various ethnic groups from the former Yugoslavia, according to a statement from GK Films.
Jolie will produce the untitled pic with GK Films' Graham King and King's business partner, Tim Headington.
Trio most recently collaborated on The Tourist, which stars Jolie and Johnny Depp in the lead. The film hits theatres in the US December 10.
