Lopez to face ex-husband on American Idol

Pop diva and actress Jennifer Lopez, who is reportedly set to join the American Idol judge's panel, might face her former husband Ojani Noa who will audition for the show.

Noa, a former waiter from Cuba who became Lopez's first husband when they married in 1997, is planning to sing on the show in Los Angeles and will even serenade the rumoured judge with one of her own songs, reported Contactmusic.

"Ojani Noa will be in line at the Forum on September 22 to try out for American Idol in front of his ex-wife. He escaped Cuba and married Jennifer Lopez, now he wants to be the American Idol. Of course he will sing a Jennifer Lopez song," said Noa's manager Ed Meyer.

Noa's stunt is set to take place on the same day as the new judging panel for the show is officially unveiled by host Ryan Seacrest, which is said to feature Lopez - who has reportedly signed a USD 12 million contract to join the series - alongside original judge Randy Jackson and

Lady Gaga wants homophobics out of US military

Pop star Lady Gaga has proposed a new policy asking US officials to throw homophobic soldiers out of the military.

The Poker Face hitmaker took a stand against the unspoken rule which bans homosexual service personnel from revealing their sexuality at a protest rally in Portland, Maine, on Monday, reported Daily Express.

The 24-year-old singer has a huge gay fan following and has been vocal about her opposition to the controversial 'Don't ask, don't tell' policy.

In the rally, organised by the Service members Legal Defense Network, Gaga called on local Republican Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins to vote to repeal the policy.

She also proposed a new policy - to throw homophobic soldiers out of the military. Taking to the stage to huge cheers, the gay icon said, "I'm here because 'Don't ask, don't tell' is wrong. It's unjust. Doesn't it seem to be, based on the constitution of the United States, (that) we're penalising the wrong soldier?"

"Doesn't it seem to you we should send home the prejudice - the straight soldier who hates the gay soldier. The straight soldier whose performance in the

Teen singing sensation Justin Bieber has fuelled rumours he is dating Jasmine Villegas after they were snapped cuddling in the back seat of a car.

The Baby hitmaker has made a point of proclaiming he is unattached following reports he rekindled his romance with childhood sweetheart Caitlin Beadles over the summer.

"I'm single. I'm kind of looking, but I'm kind of trying to stay single," Bieber said earlier this month. But now the 16-year-old singer appears to have found romance with R&B singer Villegas, who is currently performing
on his tour and appeared as his love interest in his Baby video, reported TMZ.

Bieber was spotted leaning forward towards Villegas in the back seat of a car as they drove through Venice, California earlier this month, and the

Mallika, Kangna tussle over tags

Mallika Sherawat can't bear to share the 'sexy' tag with her Dhamaal 2 co-star Kangna Ranaut.

Mallika Sherawat resents her co-star Kangna and she isn't hiding it. And it's because the latter is being tagged as having a 'sexy' role in the comic flick. Mallika feels the term belongs exclusively to her.

Says a source from the unit, "Mallika conveyed her displeasure to the producer and director. She plays Sanju's hot businesswoman wife while Kangna plays his sexy secretary. Ms Sherawat doesn't want to share the attention the guys on the sets shower on her. So right from day one, she went out of her way to be coquettish to the actors in the film - Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Ashish Choudhry and Javed Jaaffery."

Adds the source, "Though this is just the first schedule, the two lead actresses are already not on talking terms." While Mallika would chat nineteen to the dozen with the rest of the cast during breaks, she gave Kangna the cold shoulder. Soon enough, Kangna got the

Film release postponed due to court ruling

“Anjaana Anjaani” is based in the United States starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.

MUMBAI: The release of two Bollywood films has been postponed amid fears of Muslim-Hindu violence in India following a court ruling on a high-profile religious dispute, the makers have said.
Sajid Nadiadwala said the romantic comedy “Anjaana Anjaani” (Strangers), which was due to hit screens Friday, would be put back to avoid any fall-out from the long-awaited verdict in the Babri Masjid case on the same day.
The thriller “Aakrosh” (Anger) has also been postponed from its scheduled October 1 release date, said producer Kumar Mangat.
Hindu nationalists razed a 16th-century mosque in Ayodhya, in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, in 1992, claiming it had been built on the ruins of a temple marking the birthplace of the Hindu warrior god, Ram.
The destruction led to the bloodiest communal violence since the partition of the Indian sub-continent in 1947, leaving some 2,000 people dead and a legacy of mistrust between the

Germany sees worlds largest Pumpkin paddling festival

Germany sees worlds largest Pumpkin paddling festival BERLIN: Autumn is said to be the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.

And there’s certainly nothing more fruity than a water race using giant pumpkin as a boat.

The Kürbis Regatta at the annual Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival, in south-west Germany saw a host bloated specimens being paddled in front of a former royal palace.

Much of the fruit – and yes they are indeed fruit, botanically-speaking – weighed in at over 200lb before having all their flesh scooped out so that racers can fit inside.

But the festival also sees a more traditional contest where gardeners around Germany see if they can grow record-breaking pumpkins.

The weight to beat is

21st century trend: Las Vegas-style cities in the Arctic

Earth's frozen North is no place to live right now, says Laurence C. Smith in The Wall Street Journal. But that is about to change

Imagine glitz and glam below-freezing.
Imagine glitz
In decades ahead, climate change may produce heat waves, droughts, and coastal flooding that will drive large numbers of people north, says Laurence C. Smith in The Wall Street Journal. This could mean a "tremendous transformation" is in store for the Arctic over the next century. Tourism is "already booming" up there, and scientists say the region's oil and gas potential give it "rising strategic value." And that will only increase as receding sea ice frees up currently inaccessible shipping lanes. It's time to get ready for the rise of the New North. Here, an excerpt:
Imagine the Arctic in 2050 as a frigid version of Nevada — an empty landscape dotted with gleaming boom towns. Gas pipelines fan across the tundra, fueling fast-growing cities to the south like Calgary and Moscow, the coveted destinations for millions of global immigrants. It's a busy web for global commerce, as the world's ships advance each summer as the seasonal sea ice retreats, or
