Facebook Becomes ‘Top Time Waster’ in Pakistani Offices

We all knew it; however, the statement seems more valid after Daily Time’s this survey that concludes:
Pakistani office going community loves the Facebook, the most, out of all other time wasting activities.
The previous office time waster king was the MSN, Yahoo Messengers but over the years web applications have been developed that diverted the Internet traffic from these messengers.
These days, Twitter, online video games and popular video search engine Youtube are among the top office time wasters, noted Daily Times.
But even the bosses know that blocking these web sites would create frustration among the employees as they get a chance to refresh themselves just by checking their account on Facebook for a few minutes.
You may consider blocking Facebook, if you are boss and if you feel like a lot of amusement going around with less work in your office.
Interestingly, the people contacted for comments, wished not to be named as

Replying to a question, Meera said she had no intention of getting into politics. “I’m an artiste and I’m happy with my career,” she uttered in her distinct laid-back style.

The same question was put to Laila with the added reference to her presence at a recent political programme. She said she was invited to that event arranged by the people associated with a

How could I sell my own baby to Dragons' Den star? Fury of poverty-stricken father offered £700 by TV tycoon James Caan

The father of the baby that Dragons’ Den star James Caan tried to buy has condemned the multi-millionaire, saying: ‘I am not a trader of my children.’
From his village in northern Pakistan, Noor Daraz Khan said: ‘I know we are very poor but we are not shameless people . . . I can beg for my children but I cannot even think to sell them.’
Meanwhile, Caan, 49, attempted to justify offering 100,000 Pakistani rupees – about £745 – for baby Sara, who was born in the aftermath of the devastating floods that engulfed the country.
The entrepreneur admitted the outburst had been an ‘emotional response’.

Begum Nawazish Ali evicted from Bigg Boss

Pakistani artiste Begum Nawazish Ali aka Ali Salim has become the third casualty in the Bigg Boss house.

The cross-dressing TV host, who has been popular on both sides of the border, was nominated last week by the then exiting star Sakshi Pradhan.

Rajeev Khandelwal chops off long hair for movie

One-film old Rajeev Khandelwal has come out of his shell and will be seen in a new avatar - the actor has done away with his long locks for his next film Soundtrack.

The actor will sport a new hairstyle in the film, produced by Saregama India Ltd. Last seen in his debut Aamir, Rajeev was hesitant to snip his tresses.

"I have cut my hair short for this film specially. The character I am playing is that of a young DJ. After trying multiple looks, the director felt that short hair would best suit my character," Rajeev said.

"Since the past two years, I've had long hair, so I was a bit hesitant to

Mallika Sherawat goes nude

Mallika Sherawat goes nudeMallika Sherwat has given her best to turn into an international 'naagin' for her upcoming Hollywood flick Hisss.

As per the international viewpoint, clothes obstructs one's metamorphosis into a 'naagin', so the actress had to shed clothes several times in the film when she was required to transform into a snake.

Now, everyone is curious to know whether Mallika has performed the nude scenes herself or a body double was used for the same. There is a report that the nude scenes were mostly performed by Mallika herself.

Considering the bold attitude of the actress, it is not very tough to believe.

However, her brother Vikram Lamba and co-producer Ratan Jain have repeatedly claimed that a body double was used for the nude scenes in Jennifer Lynch directed Hisss.

Govind Menon, co-producer of Hisss, has also confirmed the news. Menon was quoted saying that being a committed artist, Mallika wanted to give authentic feel to the scenes so she has done most of the

The Battle of the Hotties: Kangna v/s Sushmita

With government policies clamping down heavily on the participation of foreign entertainers in Bollywood the days of Kylie Minogue and Snoop Dogg going jiggywiggy with Akshay Kumar (in the films Blue and Singh Is Kinng, respectively) are now over.

Recent efforts to get international artistes into India have been far from fruitful. The latest example being Shakira who it was being touted as the item girl in Anees Bazmi's No Problem as too the lead in a film based on Hindu goddess.

A reliable source exposes the sham behind all these Bollywood announcements about international stars. “99 percent of the time these international stars are not even aware of these lofty plans in India.

Filmmakers in Bollywood have access only to international entertainers' agents and managers whose polite non-commital response to the Bollywood invitation is quickly and conveniently construed as approval by

Deepika Padukone's Dream Shattered

Deepika Padukone`s Dream ShatteredInitially Deepika Padukone had expressed excitement about working with filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj. The actress was reportedly signed by Vishal for his next film Dream Sequence and she was excited to be a part of his film. But, the latest reports suggest that Deepika has opted out of the film so the film is again left with no leading lady.

The actress was recently quoted saying that it is like a dream come true as she has got the chance to work in a Vishal Bharadwaj film. But now, the actress has changed her mind as she has walked out of the project.

A buzz is doing the rounds that Deepika was interested to work opposite Saif Ali Khan, who was initially signed to play the male lead in this film. However, Saif moved out of the film and Bharadwaj signed veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah’s son Vivaan.

A source was quoted saying that Deepika has opted out without much hassle so there is no problem between her and Vishal. They took this decision mutually with a promise that they will work together in

Kareena dumped Heroine due to Vidya`s Dirty PictureNow it can be told why Kareena Kapoor had reservations about doing Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine.

The actress got cold feet when she learned that Milan Luthria's The Dirty Picture with Vidya Balan had a similar storyline.

As Luthria's project is produced by Balaji and Bebo is close to Ekta and Tusshar Kapoor, she got wind of the plot -- both scripts are about a top actress at a low phase of her career.

Revealed: What makes Dunno Y a controversial film

Revealed: What makes Dunno Y a controversial filmAn offbeat mainstream film explores an unexplored theme (same sex relationship), though the film captures the multi- layered relationship within an Anglo-Indian Family.... Adultery and homosexuality may be controversial themes for mainstream Indian cinema, but the film brings gay characters to the fore, the gay love affair is the most believable and sensitively portrayed..

Earlier in Dostana and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, the gay angle was more of a parody, rather than a realistic portrayal of Gay Relationship in a mainstream film.

But, the makers of Dunno Y... Na Jaane Kyun are going where no one in Bollywood has dared to tread; that is, showing a male to male longest kissing scene. Since the film portrays relationship between a man and man, the kiss is an integral part and had to be done. To make matters stickier, the kiss lasts for a minute and a half!!

But if that is a shocker, the censor board has been creating hurdles for man to man love making scene, which too is an intrinsic part of the

Shweta Tiwari is in love with Abhinav Kohli

Shweta Tiwari is in love with Abhinav KohliActor Shweta Tiwari has just lately admitted her relationship with a celebrity without disclosing the name, while actor Abhinav Kohli in an interview with a newspaper accepted his affair with her.

He disclosed that their relationship is one-and-a-half years old and they have planned to get married as soon as the beautiful lady legally gets free from the manacles of her husband Raja Chaudhuary.

A buddy close to the couple confirmed that both of them are madly in love with each other.

The source also added that Shweta's mother has accepted Abhinav who has been staying at Shweta's place since the actress left for TV reality show Bigg Boss.

Imran, Deepika paired again

Imran, Deepika paired againImran Khan and Deepika Padukone will once again be seen together in Homi Adajania's yet untitled film.

The makers of the film were in a dilemma for a long time about whom to cast opposite Imran in the quirky comedy. However, after watching Imran-Deepika's chemistry in trailers of Kunal Kohli's yet-to-to be released film "Break Ke Baad", they decided to once again cast the two actors together.

The script of the film is being written by writer-director Imtiaz Ali, who has helmed movies "Jab We Met" and "Love Aaj Kal".

This is Adajania's second film as a director. He had previously won critical accolades for his directorial debut "Being Cyrus", which starred Saif Ali Khan. It is being produced by

Bipasha happily take the cut for Ajay DevgnBy Subhash K Jha

It's never happened to her before. Though once in Phir Hera Pheri her voice had been dubbed without her permission and she was understandably upset, in her new release Aakrosh Bipasha Basu's role has been cut substantially.

And Bipsha is not sulking!

In fact she seems quite happy to be in the shadows.

Chuckles the actress, “I knew from the start that my role was comparatively small. But I wanted to be part of this film because I believed in it.When I saw the complete film for the first time with my family and friends earlier this week I realized my role had been edited out even more. Now I'm hardly there. Important things that I had shot have been removed.”

Naturally Bipasha's family and friends were disappointed.

Says the actress, “I quickly took charge of the situation in the theatre and told them to watch Aakrosh as an Ajay Devgn film. I told my friends, 'Hey guys. just enjoy the film for Ajay. Forget I'm there'. Sometimes it's important to be part of a film that says something important.

BlackBerry Style first hands-on!

Yes, folks, it's true: Engadget's capable of scooping itself at its own reader meetup, as evidenced by the BlackBerry Style we just checked out at RIM's booth here. The phone is pretty much what you'd expect from what you've seen in the shots so far, essentially a clamshell riff on the Curve line; to that end, we'd argue that it feels a little cheaper than your average Bold, but it still seems to be a marked improvement from the Pearl flips of days gone by -- and at $99 on contract, we think that's exactly the market they were likely going for. Interestingly, the keyboard looks more like a Bold component than a Curve one... and depending on the faction of BlackBerry users you fall into, that's either a very good or a very bad thing. Like the old Pearl flips, the Style's definitely large and in charge, boasting dimensions barely smaller than the

Lenovo's ThinkCentre M75e desktop range introduced, complete with business socks

They ain't much to gawk at, and they certainly won't satisfy your craving for tomorrow's best first-person shooter, but Lenovo's newest ThinkCentre machines will undoubtedly tear through an Excel spreadsheet and block your access to any website deemed remotely entertaining. The M75e will be arriving in two versions: a small form factor mini-tower starting at $504, and a standard tower starting at $524. Both units ship with a baseline configuration that includes a 2.8GHz AMD Sempron 145 AM3 processor, Windows 7 Professional, 2GB of DDR3 memory, an integrated AMD GPU (capable of driving two displays by its lonesome), a 250GB hard drive and a three-year warranty. Nokia reports improved earnings for Q3 2010, will still 'streamline' up to 1,800 employees out of a job

Nokia's quarterly results have just been made public and the company's devices plus services sector has actually improved its income relative to last year: €7.2b of revenue was collected over the past three months versus €6.9b in the same period a year ago. Operating profit has also pepped up, going from the previous €785m to €807m. You'd think this would augur well for Stephen Elop's beginning at the helm, but the new man in charge is also presiding over a fundamental restructuring of operations at Nokia, which is expected to result in the redundancy of up to 1,800 employees globally. There are no specifics to tell us who'll be losing out, but the aims are the boilerplate tasks of

First all-robot surgery performed at McGill University

A team of surgeons at McGill University, including the da Vinci robo-surgeon and a robot anesthesiologist named, of all things, McSleepy, recently removed some dude's prostate during what is being billed as the world's first all-robotic surgery. The device transmits hi-def 3D images to a nearby workstation, where it is controlled by surgeons "with a precision that cannot be provided by humans alone," according to MUHC urologist-in-chief Dr. A. Aprikian. Of course, the robots are being kept on a tight leash by their human operators, with McGill's Dr. Thomas Hemmerling pointing out that "[r]obots will not replace doctors but help them to perform to the highest standards." Just tell that to all the

Dell marketing makeover simplifies brands, kills off Adamo altogether

We knew something was going on with Dell's branding with the resurrection of the XPS laptop line, and this morning we caught up with a few of the company's executives to learn all about the entire restructuring. As you can see above, there will now be three core brands -- Inspiron, XPS and Alienware -- all focusing on different "performance seekers." However, you'll notice that Adamo is nowhere to be found on that flow chart. Turns out, the sneaky disappearance of the Adamo XPS from Dell's site hasn't exactly been a coincidence -- it's completely killing off the premium brand and has actually tamped down volumes of the super thin machines. Now, that doesn't mean systems like the original Adamo and the Adamo XPS won't exist ever again as Dell VP Ed Boyd tells us similar products will be coming to the XPS line early next year. Simplifying the brands sure does make a lot of sense to us -- all the Adamo XPS, Studio XPS, Studio laptops have seriously confused us over the last couple of years -- but it's all part of a larger marketing campaign that will attempt to move Dell away from being a low cost brand and instead portray the

Official Kinect TV ads feature smiling actors, very large rooms, little else (video)

If you're a fan of videos featuring commercial actors mugging for the camera and jumping around in a semi-comical manner, you are seriously in luck. That's right, it looks like Ballmer and Co.'s $500 million marketing blitz has resulted in some totally spasmodic TV spots for the Kinect. As befits a technology that emphasizes movement over the controller itself, there is very little actual hardware shown -- but boy, do those kids look like they're having fun! See for yourself after the

Boeing installs 50Mbps eXConnect broadband on 737

Cathay Pacific has already promised that it would bring 50Mbps in-flight broadband to some of its fleet by 2012, but it looks like Boeing has beat it to the punch to become the first to actually take the service to the skies. The company has just announced the first certification and installation of Panasonic Avionics' eXConnect in-flight internet service in one of its Boeing Business Jet 737 aircraft, which will initially be used by Panasonic itself for ongoing testing and demonstrations. That's the same system that will be used by Cathay Pacific, and consists a fuselage-mounted antenna that communicates with a network of satellites to deliver speeds of up to 50Mbps, or about a hundred times faster than most competing in-flight WiFi. Unfortunately, there's still no word on any further expansion to commercial aircraft, so Cathay Pacific may well still wind up being the first in that respect. Full press release is after the

President Obama Meets Steve Jobs

President Barack Obama is really lucky to be the topic of two of our consecutive posts. According to various sources, President of the United States flew to California yesterday where he met Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs one-on-one and had 45-minute private conversation with Jobs. President Obama last met with Jobs back in 2008 campaign trail.

Their current meeting was later confirmed by Robert Gibbs, who is the press secretary at the White House.
