Symbian^3 Nokia E6-00 leaks - a QWERTY bar with a VGA screen?

A leaked Nokia XML and a Picasa album confirmed the existence of a new Nokia smartphone. Nokia E6-00 is a Symbian^3 device with an 8 megapixel dual-LED assisted camera, that will surprisingly pack a VGA display.

All Symbian^3 devices so far have come with the nHD resolution (640 x 360 pixels), which is slightly lower than VGA (640 x 480 pixels). The OS limitation were quoted as the reason behind this, but maybe Nokia is about to find a way around it.

Assange could face death penalty in U.S.: lawyers

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will argue he should not be extradited from Britain to Sweden over alleged sex crimes because he could end up in the United States facing the death penalty, his lawyers said on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old Australian computer expert, who has infuriated Washington by releasing details of secret U.S. diplomatic cables on his website, is wanted for questioning by Sweden over allegations of sexual offences made by two WikiLeaks volunteers.

Funeral of Justice Javed’s parents today

The funeral prayers of Justice Javed Iqbal’s parents will be offered today after Zuhr prayers at Jamia Masjid Asghari near Kalima Chowk in Lahore.
Justice Javed Iqbal’s father DIG (rtd) Abdul Hameed and his wife Zareena Bibi lived at a house in Cavalry Ground, Lahore. They were found dead at their home.

Fear from dentist's drill could be removed

 LONDON: Researchers are working on a device which could cancel out the noise omitted by a dentist's drill, helping phobics to attend the dentist more easily.

Many people's fear of the dentist is rooted in the ubiquitous noise of the dreaded drill, however the new device would allow the patient to listen to their favourite tunes on an MP3 player. The headphones used with the device use noise cancelling technology, with inbuilt resistors that dull low frequency wavelengths.

"Many people are put off going to the dentist because of anxiety associated with the noise of the dentist's drill, but this device has the potential to make dear of the drill a thing of the past," claimed the professor leading the study, Brian Millar.

 DOHA: An anti-corruption tribunal against Pakistan cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer that ended Tuesday reached no decision with a further hearing scheduled for February 5.

The Income Tax department has issued a notice to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan asking him to pay tax on the Rs 17.84 crore villa in the UAE, I-T sources said.

He received the villa as a gift from a Dubai-based company during assessment year 2008-09 for promoting a real estate project.

In April 2009, SRK had filed returns declaring income of Rs 126.31 crore for assessment year 2008-09. He said his income was from house, property, profession, capital gains and other sources.

Actor Vivek Shauq, best known for his role in comedy serial Flop Show, today died after suffering a heart attack in neighbouring Thane district, family members said.

Vivek (47) was admitted to the Jupiter hospital in Thane, after he complained of cardiac arrest, where he breathed his last, they said.

"We are obviously going to miss him. He was very down to earth and helpful person," the actor's sister Namrata told PTI here.

Low budget films not viable for actors like me: Akshay

Despite low-budget films enjoying the success that many big-banner movies have failed to replicate in the recent past, Akshay Kumar feels such movies are not meant for actors like him as it is not financially viable.

"Big and established stars like Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan or me cannot venture for low-budget films like Udaan or Tere Bin Laden because high box office returns are expected from our films," the actor said on the sidelines of the music launch of his forthcoming film Patiala House.

Kangana tricked into doing a joint

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut fell prey to a 'joint' prank on the sets of her forthcoming film Tanu Weds Manu.

The 23-year-old actress, who portrays the role of a free-spirited small town girl, had to smoke a joint for a scene. However, the unit spiked up her joint and Kangana smoked it without realising. But the actress felt sick after smoking the joint and shooting had to be cancelled.

The unit later apologised for the prank. "We were really worried about Kangana, after she fell really sick because of the spiked joint. We owned up to our mischief and apologised to her. She took it in the right spirit, and didn't mind our prank," said a source.

Bollywood star Salman Khan Tuesday triumphed at the 6th edition of the Chevrolet Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards by bagging the best actor prize for hit comedy Dabangg, which was declared the best film.

Dabangg, released last year, was Arbaaz Khan's first film of the year and became the biggest box office grosser at the box office. Directed by first time director Abhinav Kashyap, the film also introduced Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha. It gave 2009's best item number Munni Badnam too.
