LAHORE: Veena Malik will perform on Tees Maar Khan’spopular song “Sheila Ke Jawani” in the grand finale for which the arrangements have been finalised, a source close to the actor told The Express Tribune. The administration ofColors TV, a private television channel that runs the reality show, has taken the decision to turn Veena Malik into “Sheila” of the mini screen since she was the most suitable contestant of the show to perform on the song, the source added. The song originally stars Katrina Kaif and is doing great on the charts.

Pitt, Jolie visit children's cancer centre



Superstar couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have made a brief visit to a children's cancer centre.

The couple -- who raise six kids, Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, Zahara, five, Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, together -- were joined by Brad's parents to the St. John's Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Centre Wednesday.

"They stayed about 45 minutes. It was a very nice visit," femalefirst.co.uk quoted hospital's spokesperson Cora Scott as saying.

Last year, Pitt and Jolie, along with family, donated $1 million to St. John's Foundation for Community Health and had the pediatric cancer unit dedicated to the Pitt's mother Jane.

Shania Twain marries



Singer Shania Twain walked down the aisle with fiance Frederic Thiebaud in Puerto Rico on New Year's day.

"They were married at sunset in front of 40 of their closest family and friends," people.com quoted Twain's representative as saying.

The couple got engaged two months ago after dating for over a year.

The 45-year-old singer was previously married to Robert 'Mutt' Lange but their 14-year union ended in May 2008 after he embarked on a relationship with her friend and Frederic's ex-wife Marie-Anne Thiebaud.

Schwarzenegger to return to acting



Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to return to acting after he ceases to be the California governor this week.

The Hollywood star, who became governor in 2003, only filmed short cameos for Terminator Salvation and The Expendables in the last seven years.

He says taking up acting again won't be so difficult, torontosun.com reports. "It is like bicycling, or like skiing. You get on it and you feel like there is no time lapse there at all.

"For me the joy of life is not to know, and you get into it and you kind of figure it out. I love that. I don't like safety nets. I am not a believer in that ... So you go in there with an open mind and you have to learn very quickly."

Nicole Richie's probation terminated



Nicole Richie's probation stemming from a 2006 DUI was terminated early on Wednesday morning, TMZ reports.

The clothing designer and Priceless author - who wed Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden Dec. 12 in Beverly Hills - was arrested in December 2006 after she was pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the highway.

She later admitted to using marijuana and Vicodin before getting behind the wheel. She was sentenced to four days in jail, though Richie spent a mere 82 minutes behind bars before she was released  and put on probation.

Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid in crisis



The 10-month-old marriage between glamour model Katie Price and her cage fighter husband Alex Reid is on the brink of a divorce and the couple have jetted off on a holiday as a last attempt to mend the relationship.

The troubled couple have flown out to a secret desert island destination in the Indian Ocean for crisis talks to sort out their problems, reported Daily Mail online.

It is believed that Reid, 37 is fed up with the paparazzi surrounding them and is trying to cope with the fame thrust upon him since they married in Las Vegas in February.

Both are also said to harbour grudges over their failure to conceive a baby through IVF. However, Reid's mother claimed that their marriage is "as strong as ever" despite the make-or-break holiday.

Just a day before she leaves rehab for a secret location, Lindsay Lohan is taking a cue from what Mahatma Gandhi said: The future depends on what we do in the present.

The 24-year-old seems to have decided to bid her troubles bye-bye in the new year and start anew.

Salman zips over for Bigg Boss shoot



Salman Khan, who was holidaying in Dubai, flew back to Mumbai in the wee hours yesterday to shoot for Bigg Boss.

The actor was in the city for a few hours for his commitment. He took a flight back to the desert nation last evening to be with his family at the time of ushering in 2011.

The Dabangg star, after a successful year at the box office, wanted a break from work.

He had left for the United Arab Emirates on Sunday along with his family and friends for a short getaway to celebrate his birthday on December 27 and New Year.

Valerie Bertinelli marries again at 50



American TV actress Valerie Bertinelli has married fiance Tom Vitale at a private ceremony in Malibu, California.

"We're so happy!" people.com quoted Bertinelli as saying.

Bertinelli, 50, and Vitale, 49, a financial planner, exchanged vows in the presence of 100 guests.

They included Bertinelli's son Wolfie, 19, from her previous marriage to rocker Eddie Van Halen, who also attended the Saturday ceremony.

Bertinelli is known for her role as Barbara Cooper Royer in the television series One Day at a Time. The couple met in 2004 and got engaged during a vacation in Italy in March last year.

Pritam gets threat calls



Pritam Chakraborty is more puzzled than frightened. Ever since it was announced that the music composer will remix the iconic Asha Bhosle track Dum maro dum for Rohan Sippy's upcoming film of the same name that is scheduled to release  next month, he has been getting threat calls.

When contacted, Chakraborty did not deny that he was under threat. "It is true. Ever since I remixed Dum Maro Dum, I've been getting aggressive calls. It's not as if they want to kill me. I think they want to kill my remix. All these calls express anger and outrage. 'How dare you?' is what they say," he said.

This isn't the first time Chakraborty has remixed an iconic song. In the past, he has remixed RD Burman's Duniya Mein Logon Ko for the film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. "I even re-did something as sacrosanct as Man Dole from the classic by Lataji in Nagin. But no one ever questioned me. But now, for the first time in my career I'm being threatened."

Discovery postpones Jackson's autopsy show



Discovery channel has scrapped plans to broadcast the re-enactment of Michael Jackson's autopsy after the late popstar's estate executors' appealed against this.

"Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Michael Jackson's estate, the scheduled broadcast of the medical documentary related to Michael Jackson's official autopsy has been postponed indefinitely," contactmusic.com quoted the channel as saying in a statement.

The show was a fictional account of Jackson's autopsy, and print ads promoting it outraged the singer's estate executors. Jackson died in June 2009.

Co-executors John Branca and John McClain had sent a letter to Discovery boss David Zaslav urging him to pull the programme out of decency. 

Justin Timberlake's new track leaked online



Pop superstar Justin Timberlake's fans are relieved that he is not quitting his music career after a previously unheard track of the singer leaked online.

The Sexy Back hitmaker took an extended break from music to concentrate on an acting career with roles in films like The Social Network and Yogi Bear, Daily Star reported.

Though the 29-year-old singer hopes to return to music eventually he had said that he currently has no plans to cut another album.

However, his fans recently went into a frenzy after a song called Take You Down with Timberlake vocals leaked online.

Michael Jackson's son may testify



Late singer Michael Jackson's eldest son Prince Michael might be asked to testify in court in his father's death case.

The 13-year-old is likely to be called by defence lawyers for Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician, at a pre-trial hearing due to start in Los Angeles Tuesday.

Murray could be jailed for up to four years for involuntary manslaughter. He has pleaded not guilty.

Murray's lawyers claim that he gave Jackson only 25 milligrams of the anesthetic propofol on June 25, 2009, the day he died, not the massive overdose that killed him and that the singer added more of the drug to his ­intravenous drip while Murray was in the bathroom.

What is it with the number 30 that gets women all worked up? Filmmaker Alankrita Srivastava's Turning 30 deals with this touchy subject that some people term a psychological issue while others see it as a new phase of life.

The film, releasing Jan 14, features former beauty queen Gul Panag as a woman who deals with a heartbreak, and a crisis in her career around her 30th birthday.

Gul, who herself touched the 30-mark last year, says apart from the physical changes that one experiences, a lot of self-assessment starts poking women in the head too!

"The skin starts showing the age, the glow might start fading, the tightness and firmness on the skin starts to feel the change. Expectations begin to hover in a self-assessment procedure and also by your near and dear ones," Gul told IANS.

Shedding clothes is a public demand: Tanushree Dutta



Bollywood bombshell Tanushree Dutta feels that actresses are asked to shed inhibitions in front of the camera mainly to cater to the public demand and not because the script demands it.

"Actually, when people come to you with the line that shedding of inhibitions is the demand of a particular screen role, they are actually pandering to the public demand. Words like demand of the role or the character are all trash," Tanushree told IANS in an interview.

Asked whether she is ready to shed clothes if the character required that, Dutta said: "In Bollywood, people have been making movies for more than half a century and they are made in such a way that you need not shed off all your inhibitions. I would really draw the line. I am no more a newcomer in Bollywood."

Farah to team up with Akshay again



Never mind the lukewarm response to Tees Maar Khan , Akshay Kumar, currently holidaying with his extended family in Goa, will do another film with Farah Khan.

"Why not? I had a ball working with Farah. I'm looking forward to working with her again. She's a tough taskmaster. Men are scared of her. So am I. She speaks her mind no matter what the consequences. She wasn't making a film to win the National award. She made a commercial film," he shoots back, unperturbed by scathing feedback for TMK.

Not just Khan, Kumar will also do a film with her husband Shirish Kunder. "Why just her husband? I'm doing a second film with her brother Sajid Khan and a film with Shirish. Shirish and I will produce his filmJoker. But it has nothing to do with the circus," he hastens to add.

'I'm not as big a star as Aamir or Salman'



After fighting it out for years for the B-Town crown, Shah Rukh Khan has passed it on to two of his biggest rivals Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

No One Killed Jessica has entertainment value: Rani



Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee, who is seen slashing her tongue hard and foul in her up-coming film No One Killed Jessica says her character lends an entertaining quotient to the film.

"For me the criteria was that No one killed Jessica has to be entertaining. If one has seen the promos then they will come to know that my character in the film is entertaining. There is lot more in the film than just an issue-based story," Rani said.

"When Raj came to me my immediate reaction was I will not do the film. But how are you going to make it entertaining for the audience was my first question. He answered the question in the script," she said.

Payal Rohtagi's quiet New Year



 While most Bollywood stars welcomed the New Year by partying all night long, actress Payal Rohtagi preferred to stay at home and spend time with her mother.

"I just wanted to spend time with my close ones. Anyways we are socialising throughout the year due to our profession. It felt good to be sane on the first day of the year and not get manipulated to party," said Payal who welcomed the New Year in Ahmedabad.

"Also it felt great visiting the gurudwara. With the hymns being recited, it just was so meaningful. Just wanted to get rid of all the negativity that has been surrounding me since a while now," she said in press statement.

Meera wants to make film with Madhuri, Rani



Pakistani actress Meera, who made her Bollywood debut with Mahesh Bhatt's "Nazar", is planning to venture into production and wants to make a film with an Indian cast and crew.

"I am planning to make a film where I am planning to cast Rani Mukerji or Salman Khan or Madhuri Dixit," Meera told IANS. She is currently shooting for her new film "Om Allah" in India.

"My film will have the complete cast and technical staff from India," she added.

Cinema is not art anymore: Bobby Deol



Bollywood actor Bobby Deol feels that cinema is not art anymore.

"Cinema is not art anymore. It has become main steam now which is good. There are different kinds of films being made with different topics and that's nice," he told IANS.

Meanwhile, the actor is gearing up for the release of his new film Yamla Pagla Deewana, which reunites him with his father Dharmendra and brother Sunny Deol once again after Apne.

The comic caper is releasing Jan 14.
