Vizio has new 3D TV for the masses

This year’s CES certainly saw the introduction of 3D TVs from major manufacturers, and somehow, we are not surprised at all that among all the big players, there are also smaller manufacturers who want a piece of this potentially lucrative pie. Vizio is among one of them, consistently churning out quality stuff without breaking the bank, and they’re back with their 65″ Theater 3D Edge Lit Razor LED LCD HDTV alongside support for Vizio Internet Apps. Vizio’s incorporation of their own Theater 3D technology will deliver a superior alternative toconventional 3D by utilizing battery-free, affordable and lightweight 3D glasses. The use of such glasses results in less eyestrain compared to current power-consuming “Active Shutter” technology – something to think about if you have a heart for the environment.

Also, the 65″ XVT3D650SV holds the distinction of being Vizio’s largest HDTV to date, and will

Hands on with the iPhone Horn Stand

Today I received the Bone Collection iPhone Portable Amplifier Horn Stand in the mail. The Horn Stand is designed to increase the volume of your iPhone by 13 decibels without the use of batteries. That is probably because there is nothing electronic or even metal in this amplifier. I heard of this product a few weeks ago, and I assumed that it was made of hard plastic. As it turns out, it is made of rubber, and smells kind of funny when you put your nose up close.
So does it increase the sound? Perhaps on an iPhone, yes. I tried it out on my iPod Touch, and I could barely hear a sound increase. I hope the effect on an iPhone would be equivalent to the iPod Gramophone or PhonoFone II.
As the name implies, the Horn Stand also works as a stand for the iPhone. So for those who like watching

Australia builds big Ashes lead

Opener Shane Watson again fell agonisingly short of a Test century as Australia built a commanding lead on the third day of the third Test at the WACA Ground.
Watson, who was chasing his third Test century, fell in the 90s for the fourth time at the top level, trapped leg before wicket by Chris Tremlett (2-56) on 95.
The powerful right-hander had batted flawlessly until his dismissal, with some magnificent cover drives.
Watson challenged the decision and was

WikiLeaks chief says US preparing to indict him

The founder of WikiLeaks said on Friday he fears the United States is preparing to indict him, but insisted that the government secret-spilling site would continue its work despite what he calls a dirty tricks campaign against him.
Julian Assange spoke from snowbound Ellingham Hall, a supporter’s 10-bedroom country mansion where he is confined on bail as he fights Sweden’s attempt to extradite him on allegations of rape and molestation.
He insisted to television interviewers that he was being subjected to a smear campaign and “what appears to be a secret grand jury investigation against me or our organization.”
Attorney General Eric Holder has said repeatedly a criminal investigation of the WikiLeaks’ continuing release of some 250,000 secret U.S. State Department cables is under way and that anyone found to have broken the law will be held accountable.
The Justice Department has provided no other public comment on who is under investigation or its legal strategy.
If pursued, the case could pit the government’s efforts to protect sensitive information against press and speech freedoms guaranteed by the

Hrithik Roshan might have had the last word in his and Salman Khan’s ugly war of words on Guzaarish but Sallu hasn’t backed out yet. Salman has once again displayed his unforgiving nature as he has opened attack on Hrithik.
The actor hasn’t taken Hrithik’s ‘preachy’ speech lightly where he stated “It’s not heroic to laugh or make fun of a filmmaker just because his box-office collections are not up there with yours”. And now he has decided to give Hrithik a head-on competition.
All set to give Hrithik a run for his money, Salman has

Hands on with the Belkin Conserve Valet Energy-Saving USB Charging Station

Just to let you know, this isn’t another one of those wireless chargers like the Powermat, Wildcharger, or that one from Energizer.
No, this Conserve Valet Smart USB Charging Station from Belkin is full of wires, but at least it puts all the wires in the right place. You can’t see the back of this, but there is a cord that plugs into the wall, and three USB ports on the back. The device comes with two USB to mini-USB ports to plug and charge appropriate devices.
If you are charging an iPod or other device that has a USB charging cable, you can wrap it around the Valet device, poke the cord through the notch, and rest the device on the slip-resistant surface there.
According to the official site, you can do 4 devices at once, but the actual surface is only big enough for two
