Welcome to hell: The evil man who made "anthrax" and biological weapons is dead

William C. Patrick III made enough germs to kill everyone on earth many times over. Then, after putting aside those living weapons, he worked for nearly four decades to build defenses against them, to better protect the United States from biological attack.

A scientist, Mr. Patrick made germ weapons for the American military from 1951 to 1969. He produced tons of deadly agents, like the microbe anthrax, which, when inhaled, causes fever, cough, vomiting, chills, shock and coma, usually ending in death. He received five patents, all of them granted secretly.

His production of these microscopic killers ended in 1969 when the

Save your skin
As you age, the first most obvious sign is the appearance of wrinkles. With age and improper beauty regime, our skin gets dry and rough which leads to wrinkles. One of the noticeable signs of ageing is the visibility of thin lines around our eyes, which are called crow’s feet.
To add to the misery, there can be sun damage in the form of discolouration. So follow the 3-step beauty routine of scrubbing, toning, moisturizing and later slathering on

Choose the perfect pair of sunglasses

Sunglasses aren’t just fashion accessories anymore and most consumers today are aware about the dangers of sun exposure to eyes.
The Ultra Violet (UV) radiation from the sun can damage not only the skin of your eyelids, but also the clear outer parts of the eye — the cornea and conjunctiva.
UV exposure also contributes to the development of certain types of cataracts. Individuals can protect their eyes by simply wearing sunglasses that block out 99 to 100 per cent of UV.
Such glasses protect the eye from both UVA-and the more harmful-UVB rays.
However, not all sunglasses block UV rays. According to a research conducted at Harvard University, “Tinted glasses without UV protection cause more

Sony's leaked Google TV prices were wrong, says alleged insider

If the discovery of down-to-the-cent leaked prices for Sony's Google TVs sounded too good to be true, you might have been partially right -- the publication that reported that the sets would range from $1,299 to $1,899 has now backed away from those figures. Sony Insider says that though its original prices seemed legit, the website's spooks inside Sony now claim they'll actually cost less when they hit the market, though the screen sizes and model numbers were apparently on the

Samsung unveils new 55-inch LCD with ultraslim bezel, invites DIY video walls

Remember the world's thinnest bezel separation touted by Sharp just this past June? Forget about it. Samsung has bested its Japanese competitor with the unveiling of a new 55-inch Digital Information Display panel that features bezels of 3.8mm on the top and left edges and 1.9mm on the bottom and right, leading to a positively svelte 5.7mm distance between the content of neighboring displays. That good stuff is augmented with Full HD resolution and a blinding 700 nits of brightness. There'll also be a 46-inch model that offers a 7.6mm separation (hint: that's still pretty damn thin), though we've yet to learn on

Copy and paste coming to Windows Phone 7 in 'early 2011' (update)

So, maybe Microsoft meant "people don't do that in 2010." At the mega-corp's UK-based Windows Phone 7 launch event, we were just informed that its hot-off-the-presses mobile OS will be blessed with a software update that'll add copy and paste functionality in "early 2011." That's according to one Andy Less, and while details beyond that are scant, it's possible that said update will also bring other magical makeovers into the fold. We're still a little baffled that the company would leave such a seemingly vital part of the software out at launch, but we guess certain corners always have to be cut in order to get something out before a sure-to-be-profitable holiday quarter. And hey, it's not like we haven't seen another major mobile OS player pull this same stunt before.

Update: CNET's Ina Fried got a quick look at an early implementation of copy and paste in Windows Phone 7, and says it works fairly well: You start by clicking on a single word, then drag your finger across the rest of the passage you'd like to

Virgin Galactic's VSS Enterprise completes first solo glide flight

It completed its first flight with a crew on board back in July, and Virgin Galactic's VSS Enterprise (a.k.a. SpaceShipTwo) has now crossed what's unquestionably its biggest hurdle to date: the first solo glide flight. That happened early Sunday morning at the Mojave Air and Spaceport in California, where the VSS Enterprise took off attached to the mothership and then separated at an altitude of 45,000 feet, after which it was freely piloted by Pete Siebold and co-pilot Mike Alsbury for a full eleven minutes before safely landing on the runway (another first for the spaceship). Oh yeah, there's a

France's SFR jumps gun, announces Palm Pre 2: 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, webOS 2.0

It's unclear if the tiny, little shot posted on French carrier SFR's Club SFR pour Palm blog is in fact the rumored upcoming Pre 2 or just an old Pre shot, but let's put it this way: considering that we can't readily tell the difference, it better be an old one. At any rate, the sparse details in the blog post line up with everything we're expecting so far, namely that the new model will use a 1GHz processor -- presumably a TI OMAP3630 -- and will sport a full half gig of RAM on board. Between those two spec bumps, we'd fully expect the refreshed webOS 2.0 to scream... but we won't really know for sure until Palm gives us something to work with. In the meantime, SFR, thanks for

Is Kareena still Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine

Is Kareena still Madhur Bhandarkar`s HeroineFew days back, Kareena Kapoor was reported to have moved out of filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar's next project 'Heroine'. It was said that the actress had quit the film because her director friend Lovely Singh's father was not allowed to meet Bhandarkar, even after waiting for three hours at his office.

Since then, it was speculated that the movie might have been canned. Heroine is believed to be a modern-day version of Shyam Benegal's 1977 film Bhumika, which starred Smita Patil. Bhumika was based on the life of renowned Marathi actress Hansa Wadkar whereas Heroine is supposed to be on a Bollywood actress and her relationships with the five men in her life.

Madhur has reportedly made a three-hour documentary on some Hollywood divas like Elizabeth Taylor, Vivian Leigh, Marilyn Monroe and Eva Gardner. These Hollywood stars along with Bollywood heartthrobs like Meena Kumari, Madhubala, and Nargis have supposedly served as reference to help Kareena to get into the character.

A report suggested that Bebo wanted to delete the
