Umar Akmal hit in nose during practice

Batsman Umar Akmal was ruled out of Thursday’s warmup match against Somerset after being hit in the nose by
a ball during practice.
Akmal received medical treatment on site after being hit by a bowled ball in the nets on Thursday morning.
“He has a bit of bleeding but nothing broken,” team manager Yawar Saeed said.
Saeed said Akmal, who was replaced for the match by Azhar Ali, would be fit for Pakistan’s Twenty20 and one-day international series against England.
Abdul Razzaq joined Akmal on the sidelines after he injured his back midway through the match against Somerset, having scored two runs in his side’s innings.
“He felt pain in the right side of his back when practicing and is now having treatment,” Saeed said. “We will monitor his condition over the next day or so.”
Razzaq’s injury meant that Pakistan was down to 11 fit players in its squad.
Saeed said earlier Thursday that Pakistan would be calling up three replacement players for the one-day series.
