Mobile phone customers of various cellular phone operators got enraged as they suffer problems of call drops and connective issue of the services owing to overloading network during busies hours usually because of utility of long hours call packages available to them.
The rising trends of cellular operators to offer lowest cost multiple call packages are sometimes no more attractive for their customers who fail to avail services offers as they are portrayed in the tv commercials and newspaper advertisements.
As per received complaints of customers by Telecom Recorder, it showed that customers are not happy with the offers of cellular operators as a matter of fact they face frequent call drops and connectivity issue on the hour-long call packages.
Recently operators with their brand names Jazz Octane & D-Juice and Uth packages have introduced lowest calls services and SMS bundles offers in which there is one call- package offer free airtime to its customers on the cost of two or ten minutes call in specified hours mostly from 9am to 5pm. These packages are become troublesome for customers when call get disconnected after
20 minutes in the middle of the free minute’s offers.
Customers Grievances
We are on the mercy of our cellular operators. Sometimes I am become successful to get free minutes of call packages but sometimes I couldn’t avail proper services because one hour calls drop in 30 minutes, said 22-year old Adnan. I request Mobilink, please provide us minutes pledge in your adverts because I need to talk for hours with my Misha Shafi (female friend).
A 27-year old dJuice user – Faisal Shahid – has complained that dJuice FnF offers like Boltay Jao suffer from frequent call drops. Sometimes, the calls do not even connect.
Faisal Shahid – who has been using the dJuice number since its launch has complained that everything, was fine with his connection until dJuice launched this offer. Now, he says, that he is thinking of quitting this offer. He also said that like so many others, he chose this offer as it was best offer but now he regretted his decision.
TV commercials advertisement inciting customers to talk unlimited day and night without any care of charges by cellular phone operators are attracting its customers to use the services, however, unexpected and poorly calculated response have been become unmanageable for operators, resulting customers suffer. There are few hours such as 12 pm to 3 pm customers found busy and call disconnect incident on free minutes call packages.
Analyst Viewpoint
Telecom analyst Saed Azfar said that the cellular operator’s network capabilities to retain loads of prolong calls depends on infrastructure quality and number of users make calls attempts at a time.
The call drop incident also occur on bad weather and congestion of calls, however, the operators designated separate channels for packages subscribing users on their infrastructure to make free of interruption services, which add handsome revenue to their kitty.
He added the operators needs to monitor the number of subscribers add specified packages in the particularly area, therefore, the programming and capacity building up could be executed on their physical infrastructure in order to fulfill the requirement of subscribers. Otherwise, subscribers will continue to face call drop incidents and face loss of service availed.
