Governor Sindh ready to resign: sources KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has got his resignation ready and is expected to give it to President Asif Ali Zardari, Geo News reported Sunday.

President Asif Ali Zardari has called Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan to mull over the recent spate of target killings and the resultant situation in the city.

The sources said the Sindh Governor is expected to tender his resignation to the president Zardari in a do-or-die meeting.

The sources said the Dr Ishratul Ibad talked to Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and apprised him about the party’s reservations over Karachi violence and a group in government involved in patronizing the criminal elements. Both the leaders discussed various issues in this regard.

The meetings of MQM’s Rabta Committee are simultaneously underway in London and Karachi to mull over the violent situation in Karachi, which has left at
least 25 people in a matter of only 24 hours.

The Committee expressed reservations over the conduct of the government.

The MQM sources said the party has lifted over 20 bodies of its workers; accordingly, there is no other getting away from the tendering resignation.

The sources stressed the government in concert with the Awami National Party (ANP) is involved in exacerbating the situation in the city.

The MQM said the government is treating the party not like allies but rivals and the party workers are being targeted killed.
