World's Most Expensive Cars From Los Angeles Auto Show 2010

Autos show held in American city Los Angeles. Automakers from all around the world took part in this show and display newest production and concept vehicles. Given a bumpy ride for the US automakers, due to 2008 collapse in US auto sales amid the
worst economic downturn in decades, the show assumes importance in terms of new trends and technology that will prevail in the upcoming year. Checkout the cars !

The 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show also saw the global debut of the new 5-door Range Rover Evoque. The model is being promoted as “most smallest, lightest and most fuel-efficient Range Rover ever built.” Powered by a 2.0-liter Si4 direct injection, turbocharges gasoline engine generates up to 240 bhp, that sprints the model 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds.
Paying tribute to the legendary 356 Speedster, German sports car maker Porsche unveiled the new 911 Speedster. The model is powered by A 3.8L flat 6-cylinder engine making 408-hp power, 23-hp more than the 911 Carrera S. The company said only 356 units of the new two-seat roadster will be produced.
Porsche’s other introduction during the show was Porsche 911 Carrera GTS – a model which is sporty, luxurious and racy. The model will come both as a coupe and a cabriolet. Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is powered by the same 3.8-litre flat 6-cylinder engine that develops 408 hp and 420 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. This is 200 rpm earlier than the Carrera S.
During the show Nissan also unveiled the redesigned, fourth generation Nissan Quest minivan. According to the company the model offers family friendly innovations and amenities. The fourth generation minivan is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine that can deliver 253 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. It’s set to go on sale at Nissan dealers in early 2011.
During the show, Nissan Motor introduced three new models: the maxima-size Ellure sedan concept, the new Quest minivan, and a convertible Murano crossover. The concept sedan Ellure lies in between the Nissan Altima and Maxima in terms of size. The futuristic styling of the Ellure aims at bringing women back to them.
Nissan had the premiere of the world’s first crossover convertible – the 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. It is an interesting but risky innovation: an all-wheel-drive crossover convertible. The CrossCabriolet has a retractable soft-top and two fewer doors than the straight-up Murano. It will start at $46,390 and arrive in dealerships early next year.

Mazda said that it will use the word ‘Kodo’ (Japanese for soul of motion) to describe the new design language. According to Mazda, Shinari is a Japanese word that “describes the powerful yet supple appearance of great resilient force when objects of high tensile strength, such as steel or bamboo, are twisted or bent.”
The interior of Kia POP is surprising, as the dashboard is replaced by a LED display screen that indicates the car’s battery charge level. The car has a 67-horsepower electric motor with a range of 100 miles. Lithium polymer gel batteries allow the POP to recharge in six hours.
Kia POP – the 118-inch-long three-seater, first introduced at the Paris Motor Show in September, is a mashup of present day (a zero-emissions electric vehicle) and distant future (a world more accepting of oblong windows paired with butterfly doors.
South Korean car maker Kia Motors displayed its three-seater electric micro car concept called the POP which is a striking vision of future urban electric transport. Powered by a set of compact lithium polymer gel batteries, its 50kW electric motor has an estimated 100 mile range. The POP could be fully charged in just six hours.
Ian Callum, design director of Jaguar Cars, said that the Christened C-X75 has been created in the memory of the foundation of the company which occurred almost 75 years ago. He said Tata Group chairman Mr Ratan Tata is very excited about the car and loved its design.
Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar, owned by Tata Motors, unveiled their concept electric car, the Cx75 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. On a single full charge, the Cx75 can run for 900 kms and has a top speed of 320 kmph. According to company, four 145kW motors help the car to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under 3.1 seconds.
During the show it was evident that EVs and other green vehicles may finally be ready for prime time. In their global debuts, Honda showed off the concept for its Fit EV as well as the platform for a plug-in hybrid. Honda Fit EV, is a five-seater plug-in vehicle that can run up to 100 miles in a single charge, at up to 90 mph. The Fit EV is designed to meet the daily driving needs of the average metropolitan commuter and utilizes the same 5-passenger layout found in the popular Fit hatchback. When the Fit EV production model is introduced, it will be powered by a lithium-ion battery and coaxial electric motor.
Cadillac’s Urban Luxury Concept car features a hybrid drive train: a turbocharged 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine employing electric assist technology, engine start-stop function, brake energy regeneration and a dry dual-clutch transmission.
During the show, Cadillac introduced their cute Urban Luxury Concept car. The model is designed as a small city car of the luxury-obsessed and has features like touchscreen computers and projected screens that replace traditional manual gauges. Comparable in size to popular city cars found in Paris and London, the model demonstrates a departure from conventional vehicle design.
German Luxury car manufacturer Audi has a pretty huge display set up at the LA Auto Show but its new four-door-coupe A7 for the North American market stole the limelight. Audi says the luxurious A7 “brings together the best of three worlds: the sporty elegance of a coupe, the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon.” Audi of America’s president, Johan de Nysschen, brought the marketing home in a tight sound bite: “The A7 puts the fun in functional.”
Audi A7 is powered by supercharged 300-horsepower V-6 engine. The company claims that the car can attain a speed of 0-60 mph time in 5.6 seconds. The Audi A7 is scheduled to reach US Audi showrooms next spring.
Models pose with the 2011 Porsche Cayman R on November 17, 2010 at the LA Auto Show in Los Angeles. Powering Cayman R is a tuned up 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine generating 330hp. The car is capable to achieve 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed caped at 175mph with manual gearbox and 174 with PDK.
Porsche’s President and CEO Matthias Muller reveals the 2011 Porsche Cayman R on at the LA Auto Show. Porsche Cayman R goes on sale in February 2011, at a price of $66,300.
