Dad has helped me become more professional: Shahid

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who is currently shooting for Pankaj Kapoor’s “Mausam”, says working with his father has made him more professional.
“I have done a lot of films with new directors, so it became easy for me to convince them on a shot. But with dad, it is not the same. He has made me more professional,” Shahid, who was here to unveil Pioneer’s new 2011 electronics range, told reporters.
Starring alongside Sonam Kapoor, Shahid will be seen portraying the role of an air force pilot in the
directorial debut of three-times national award winner Pankaj Kapoor.
The 29-year-old says he has become thick-skinned to his father’s presence now.
“Initially, I used to get jitters in his presence but now I have become used to it and have learnt how to overcome my nervousness. After spending so much time with him, I have become more thick-skinned,” Shahid said.
“It is not very easy to satisfy my dad. Till the time I don’t get thumbs up from his end, the re-takes don’t stop. But the process has made me learn a lot. My casual attitude to let go has been rectified by dad. He is the finest actor, not because he is my dad but because of the experience and talent he has,” the actor said.
Shahid says he wants to be known as the “director’s actor”.
“I want to be known as the director’s actor. From now on, I will not take the pressure of what they want from my character. I’ll listen to them, do according to them and if things don’t work out, blame them for it,” he said with a sheepish grin.
