Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp showed his generous side by spending a whopping $ 60,000 out of his pocket to buy waterproof jackets for the crew members of his latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie.
Depp, who has come to be recognised by his eccentric character of Captain Jack Sparrow, is shooting the fourth installment of the sea-faring movie in Buckinghamshire.
A recent spell of cold weather left the crew members numb and that's when Depp decided to buy the jackets, Contactmusic reported.
"Johnny paid out of his own pocket for all 500 of us to have a nice warm waterproof. It's a great morale boost and another example of why he is one of the nicest people in Hollywood," a crew member said.
But this is not the first time the 'Public enemies' star has been praised for his kindness.
Earlier this month, the 47-year-old actor made a surprise visit to the Meridian Primary School in south London dressed as his beloved character, Captain Jack Sparrow, much to the delight of the children.
