Dabangg outshines all at Mirchi Music Awards

The award season is at its peak and we are already witnessing the Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg’ rope in most of the trophies right from Best actor to Best film as was seen in the Apsara Awards. But looks like merely the film awards aren’t enough for this block buster.
Now, Dabangg is also making a clean sweep for its heart-pulsating music. Recently at the Mirchi Music Awards, ‘Dabangg’ bagged the major awards including the Best Album of the year and the Best Song of the year.
‘Dabangg’ was conferred with the best album of
the year while its music composers Sajid-Wajid were rewarded with the music director of the year award for their poignant and romantic number ‘Tere mast mast do nain’.
The Best Song of the year award went to the popular ‘Munni badnaam hui…darling tere liye’ track which saw off competition from the ‘Tees Maar Khan’ number ‘Sheila Ki Jawani.’ Singer of ‘Munni badnaam…’ Mamta Sharma was bestowed the upcoming female vocalist of the year award as well as the female vocalist of the year award.
She shared the female vocalist of the year award with singer Aishwarya.
Male vocalist of the year award was conferred on the legendary Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for his soulful singing in Dabangg’s ‘Tere mast mast do nain.’ Dabangg’s Sandeep Shirodkar bagged the award for Best background score of the year.
