Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her petite and slim look is on a weight gaining spree these days.
The actress, who will be seen as Tanu in her first release of the year, Tanu Weds Manu opposite Madhavan for the first time, plays a small town girl in the movie.
Accidentally, during the shooting of the film in April, Kangana fractured her leg and was on complete bed rest for few weeks and as a result, she started putting on a lot of weight. She was a bit reluctant to start shooting again since she was seven kilograms heavier. But to her surprise, film director Anand Rai recommended Kanaga to shoot with the extra kilos.
She went ahead and in the process, for her film No Problem she shed the extra kilos, sources said.
Now the real challenge is that the makers now want Kangana to regain those 7 kgs, so as to start the promotion of the film, which is due to release on February 25.
They want Kangana to promote the film as Tanu, her character in the film and not as Kangana in real life.
Says Director Anand Rai, "Kangana had put on weight during the shooting of the film and now that we are starting the promotions, I would like her to put on weight for her character. Its important that people identify with her character as it is."
