Microsoft publishes windows 7 and Office 2010 in Urdu


Microsoft, under its project Language Interface Pack (LIP) has published Urdu version of their most wanted operating system Windows 7 and office 2010.
This is the first time that any Microsoft operating system has been translated and released (all versions) in Urdu. Previously, Microsoft has released 64-bit Urdu version of Windows XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 and Windows Vista, said a press release issued here on Monday.
Microsoft and their partner lauds Pakistani organization ‘inksoft’ for their best performance in this great
achievement under the supervision of Mr. Atash Durrani.
Asad Zaman, the chief executive officer of inksoft Pakistan said that “The operating System and Office is being published in other languages too i.e. Persian, Pashto, Sindhi, Punjabi, Blauchi”.
Not only these two above mentioned products but also other softwares are being translated in various local languages and in Urdu.
Inksoft use “special tools” such as Government approved Standard Localization Glossary for Urdu and Pashto Languages, Standard Urdu Spell Checker and Unicode based Nastleeq Font for Desktop Publishing.
