The government has appointed Captain Nadeem Khan Yousufzai new Managing Director

The government has appointed Captain Nadeem Khan Yousufzai new Managing Director (MD) of the state-own airline after the former MD tendered his resignation.
Earlier, the former MD Aijaz Haroon had agreed to relinquish his position following the Pakistan International Arilines (PIA) employees’ 4-day strike that caused the loss of millions to the already deficit-stricken entity.
The government team, headed by Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar and Interior Minister Rehman Malik, held successful dialogue with the PIA joint action committee in
Islamabad.
Talking to the journalists after the meeting, Ahmed Mukhtar told that Aijaz Harro had voluntarily filed his resignation. He, however, said the issue of MoU between PIA and Turkish Airlines and the reinstatement of sacked employees was under consideration.
On this occasion, the protesting employees’ leader Sohail Baloch said the employees had written a new chapter in the history of PIA.
The focus of attention would now be towards restoring the flight operations, he added.
