The African anthem Wavin? Flag composed by Somalian artist K?Naan has set a record of sorts with over 150,000 downloads in India becoming the most downloaded international song in India in a short period since its release last month.
Bollywood stars too have been going gung-ho about the track on Twitter. ?My kids love Wavin? Flag,? Shah Rukh Khan, who is a huge football fan along with son Aryan, recently tweeted.
Deepika Padukone who has been clued into the game and has been watching the song during matches also tweeted in praise of the song.
When asked about what she likes best about the track she says, ?The best thing about the track is that it makes me want to sing along each time I listen to it. That is the mark of a great track. Wavin?Flag is definitely making waves all over,? says Deepika.
Apart from the stars, the Indian music industry has also loved the anthem that has strangely beendownloaded more than the Mumbai Indian?s theme song.
Mohit Chauhan feels that he is not surprised that the song has become the most downloaded track. ?The tune is immensely catchy and the beats of the track really catch my attention. And most importantly the song has the right spirit.?
