Sonam's IHLS safe in comparison to SAAWARIYA, D6?

Sonam Kapoor didn't quite have a conventional Bollywood outing to begin with as she opted for SAAWARIYA for her debut film. This Sanjay Leela Bhansali film wasn't quite the kind of love story that debutants begin their career with. Same was the case with DELHI 6 that had an almost surreal theme. However, the common factor was that Sonam excelled in both the roles and was noticed by one and all. Now that she gets ready to be seen in I HATE LUV STORYS, one wonders whether this Karan Johar produced romcom is a far safer venture for her.

"I don't think any film is safe right now", comes a categorical statement from Sonam who, though very positive about I HATE LUV STORYS, doesn't wish to term it as a safe conventional outing, "I don't think that in the world of films, anything that you do is safe. This is not how film making operates. There are so many factors that come into play than just the genre or the banner or your role or the co-stars."

Still, the fact remains that romantic comedies tend to have a much better strike rate in Bollywood, case in point being some of the biggest hits in recent times like AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI, JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA and JAB WE MET. One can rightly believe that a film like I HATE LUV STORYS can be expected to find a better reception amongst audience when compared to Sonam's earlier two films.

"It is a nice and simple film told in a very simple way", Sonam lightens up here, "The film has been made by a bunch of young people like Punit (director), Imran and myself and that shows. It is a good breezy film and I am sure audience will definitely like it."

Also starring Sameer Dattani in an important role, I HATE LUV STORYS is a co-production of UTV Motion Pictures and Dharma Productions. With music by Vishal-Shekhar, the film is releasing all over today.
