Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) being observed today

The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and other martyrs of Kerbala is being observed with solemnity and religious reverence across the country as extraordinary security arrangements have been put in place to prevent any untoward incident.
In Karachi, the main procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park. The procession will take the traditional route to its destination Hussainiyan Iranian in Kharardar where it will be culminated.
Authorities have taken extensive security
measures for the protection of processions and Majalis during the religious rite as heavy contingent of police and Rangers were deployed along the route of the procession and all the entrances to the MA Jinah road have been blocked with containers for the day.
In Lahore, security has been put on red alert and the main procession will also be monitored from the air. DCO Lahore had already imposed a ban pillion riding during the Chehlum.
The main procession in Islamabad was taken out amid tightened security which, later, culminated at Isna Ashri Imam Bargah.
